FDA approves a new approach to treating chronic hepatitis B
Hibsago (bepirovirsen) has been approved in combination with existing antiviral therapy for certain adults without cirrhosis. In some patients, treatment may allow viral control to be maintained after therapy ends.
This is not a treatment for every patient with hepatitis B. Serious risks include liver-related reactions and reduced platelet counts; laboratory tests and medical monitoring are required. Do not stop your current treatment on your own.

CHMP recommends the oral GLP-1 medicine Foundayo
At its October meeting, the CHMP recommended Foundayo (orforglipron) for weight management and the treatment of type 2 diabetes in adults. It is one of six medicines the committee recommended for approval at that meeting.
A CHMP recommendation is not yet a final authorisation from the European Commission. This medicine is not a dietary supplement; a doctor determines the indications and suitability of treatment. Availability in each country must be checked separately.

NIH ODS launches a scientific series on supplements during menopause
In its October digest, ODS announced a webinar series on the role of supplements in the transition to menopause. The first webinar is scheduled for 27 October 2026; experts will discuss the available evidence and gaps in research.
Announcing a scientific programme does not establish the effectiveness of “hormonal” supplement blends. Supplement choices depend on symptoms, diet, medical conditions and medicines being taken.
